The Quote I wanted to talk about this week in the "Quotes I love," series is the quote above. While the quote itself is directed towards girls. I think that it could be said about men as well. Society loves to talk about love it. Especially when it comes to finally being together and how it gives the assumption that you’ll be forever happy after you find that one person.
While this does happen for some people the majority of us are not going to find the love of our life after we’ve kissed a lot of frogs or maybe not even at all. There are always articles about what to do to find your prince or princess but they give very little advice on things you should do to make yourself happy and an all-around better person for your own sake and betterment. Everything seems to have the motivation that if you do this you’ll meet that special person.
I liked this quote because it gets rid of that old formula of you should only do thing is the hopes of finding somebody to love you. The old way of thinking isn’t helping anyone. We’re more of a self-motivated society so that old style of thinking is prehistoric. Especially when people don’t even have to have sex to have a child. Adoption has always been around but people are not waiting to find the right person to take the step of being a parent.
But going back to the quote by teaching younger children to have some set of standards for themselves it can help to solve growing up and having to date a long list of people that you aren’t even remotely interested in as well as a lot of undue heartache. Not that they won’t experience that because they will. It’s just won’t be a lot of wasted tears for people who weren’t even worthy of tears being shed. Besides that think of how much more they can grow if they don’t have to keep wondering about trying to find somebody and actually just letting it naturally happen.
